Joseph Rubenstein established Realty Appraisal Company after building successful businesses in the fields of real estate sales, property management, construction and development. Joseph’s sons Robert and Stanley joined Realty Appraisal Company in 1951, managing the firm until 2000 when Joseph’s grandsons, Steven and Neil, began overseeing operations of the firm. Realty Appraisal Company has a rich history of providing appraisal services to the State of New Jersey.
Robert I. Rubenstein – In Memoriam
Robert I. Rubenstein had engaged in the general practice of real estate since 1948. His experience included sales, leasing, and financing of property, as well as property valuation. Robert had 50 years of experience in appraisals, focusing on commercial and industrial properties.
Robert was a member of the Appraisal Institute, the successor to the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. He had been a licensed real estate broker in the State of New Jersey since 1950. He formerly served as President of New Jersey Chapter No. 1, in 1972. He was also a Certified General Appraiser (RG487) from the New Jersey Board of Real Estate Appraisers.
Robert graduated from Cornell University in 1948 with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Stanley Rubentsein – In Memoriam
Stanley Rubentsein had been continuously engaged in the general practice of real estate since 1950, including selling, leasing and financing various property types. He had co-supervised revaluations in over 260 municipalities throughout the state as well as numerous appraisals for lending institutions and government agencies. Attorneys and estates have also hired Stanley to appraise properties for condemnation, ad valorem, taxation and inheritance tax.
Stanley was a licensed real estate broker for the State of New Jersey and has qualified as an expert before many boards of taxation and the New Jersey State Tax Court.
Stanley attended Cornell University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He completed numerous courses of study through the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers.
Steven Rubenstein – MAI, SCGREA,CTA
Steven has been appraising property for Realty Appraisal Company for more than three decades. He has provided expert testimony before numerous county tax boards as well as the state tax court.
Steven holds the distinction of being an MAI, Certified Tax Assessor and Certified General Appraiser – one of few in the State of NJ.
As a guest speaker and panelist at numerous conferences and boards, Steven has been at the forefront of industry education. He had served in the borough of Glen Rock and Wood Ridge as the Tax Assessor.
Steven graduated from Boston University in 1978, and has continued his education through seminars and courses given by the Appraisal Institute.
Neil Rubenstein – SCRREA, CTA
Neil Rubenstein has been a practicing appraiser of real estate since 1983. He has spent a significant portion of his career engaged in the mass appraisal field, specifically as it relates to municipal revaluations. Neil’s expertise has afforded him the opportunity to work with all types of municipalities including urban centers, suburban communities, and rural districts.
Neil is a Certified Appraiser and Certified Tax Assessor, currently serving in the Borough of Haworth.
Neil earned a Bachelors of Arts from Muhlenberg College. He has continued his education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, as well as augmenting his skills through courses offered by the Appraisal Institute.
Brian Smith – SCGREA
Brian Smith has been involved in the mass appraisal field and municipal revaluations since 2012. He has performed all duties involved in the valuation of the commercial properties within these municipalities.
A New Jersey State Certified General Appraiser since 1992, Brian has completed appraisals and appraisal reviews for mortgages, tax appeals, condemnation proceedings, partnership disputes, foreclosures, sale and lease negotiations, estates, charitable donations and insurance purposes. He has given testimony before several county tax boards and the Tax Court of New Jersey.
He has continued his education through seminars and courses given by the leading appraisal organizations in the State of New Jersey.
Eydie Saleh – SCGREA
A New Jersey State Certified appraiser since 2005, Eydie has appraised thousands of residential properties for lending institutions, professional legal corporations, State courts, trusts and estates. She has provided expert testimony before the Ocean and Monmouth County Boards of Taxation. Eydie’s expertise has been invaluable while working for numerous municipalities for tax appeal defense.
Brandon Sherwood – Manager
Brandon Sherwood serves as Manager and Technology professional for Realty Appraisal Company, and has been engaged in the fields of construction and property management in New Jersey since 2002. He has served as managing supervisor and inspector for more than five years, and has overseen revaluation and reassessment projects in a variety of municipalities in both Monmouth and Middlesex counties. He is currently working on acquiring his Certified Tax Assessor certificate as well as his SLRREA.
The field inspection team is seasoned and educated using the highest industry standards.
